Find Your Guitar Groove: One Song or Many? 🎸 |
Hey , should you be learning a few songs at once or knuckle down to one or two? For beginners I'm always keen to introduce a smorgasbord of short little songs. Why? 2 reasons... 1: In the beginning taking any "little win" you can get is incredibly motivating. It keeps
you inspired. 2: By trying different songs and styles you start to get a feel for your identity and taste in guitar music. From here the answer to the above question comes down to attention span and how you like to learn. I have students that like to knuckle down to one or two songs. Grinding, perfecting and zeroing in! Consequently I have other students who like 4 or 5
songs on the go. By moving to different songs they have flexibility in their practice. Choosing songs depending on their mood and energy levels. As you improve at guitar and build a repertoire of songs you might find yourself learning 2 new songs and the rest of your practice spent playing the songs you already know. Don't let those songs you know get away from you. If you
don't play them, you lose them. Keep on playing, Drue James www.LearnGuitarInLondon.com |
