I'm not good at guitar

Hey ,

if I asked you to play me a song right now what would you choose?

Something to impress me?

Something you're learning that you think has some crazy guitar skills in?

The ego at work.

"Surely they'll find out I'm not that good at guitar if I do an easy song."

But remember most people don't know what an "easy song" is.

They haven't got a clue!

Most people want a sing along or to hear something they recognise.

I understand that not everyone is playing guitar for other people. You're doing it for yourself.

But if you ever get asked to play a song then choose something easy.

If nothing feels easy then play a few chords instead.

It's incredibly tempting to play a song that is too challenging. Or something you're learning right now.

Instead choose something you've played a 1000 times.

Something you can play while you're looking around the room.

Make it as easy as possible so you're body can play it even while you're nerves are going nuts.

I've seen many performers choose songs that are too challenging for them. Or they just haven't practised it enough.

Keep it easy and have fun,
